Belknap was born in Damariscotta. Belknap is the daughter of David Belknap, along with Louise Belknap. She was a student at Lincoln Academy at Newcastle Maine. While attending Middlebury College in Vermont she gained an interest in acting. After that, she studied at the American Conservatory Theater earning a Master of Fine Arts degree. Belknap appears in a variety of shows on TV, such as medical investigations (related with ER & Third Watch) & The Handler.
